JoAnna Mendl Shaw

IMPRINTED Producer, The Equus Projects Artistic Director

JoAnna Mendl Shaw choreographs works for stage, rural and urban landscapes. Her company, The Equus Projects tours the States and Europe creating site-specific performance works with dancers and horses and bringing Physical Listening into colleges and elementary schools, think tanks and educational design programs.  The making of IMPRINTED is a deepening of JoAnna’s years of research into the human-equine dialogue.

Kat Reese

The Equus Projects Dancer


Kat grew up training not only as a dancer, but also as an equestrian. Kat rode horses and competed in dressage shows and championships for ten years before going on to attend Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University as a dance major. She graduated Summa cum Laude with her BFA in 2014 and teaches at numerous NJ studios. She joined Equus Projects in 2018.

Clement Mensah

The Equus Projects Dancer

Clement Mensah is a performer, choreographer and an educator who was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. After living and going to school in the Netherlands, U.S. and the UK, where he did postgraduate degree at Trinity Laban Conservatory, Clement came to NYC where he danced with numerous companies and performed, taught and traveled to over forty-nine countries. He is currently a member of Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance and joined Equus Projects in 2019.

Carrie Rae Christiansen

IMPRINTED Equine Director

Carrie Christiansen is a lifelong horse woman who began her equestrian career as a competition hunter jumper. Her eclectic equine training includes formal dressage, classical In Hand training, Natural horsemanship, driving and an extensive knowledge of homeopathic equine medicine.

Terry Smith

IMPRINTED Equine Director

Terry Smith is a life-long equestrian. She and her husband Roger own Maplewinds Farm, a modest horse farm in southeastern New Jersey where IMPRINTED is being filmed. With a degree in biology and education from Rutgers University, Terry teaches high school level science with specific interest in teaching forensic science. She is a dressage rider and natural horsemanship practitioner. Her mare Roxy, now 20, has been with Terry since she was a young foal.

Martina is a producer, director, and VR content creator with award winning works in documentaries, fiction films, commercials, and TV productions. Her 15-year experience and her passion for storytelling have led her to direct and produce numerous films using a variety of formats and is constantly searching for new stories to tell based on her unique perspective. She is based in New York City since 2009 and is the founder of Mosaico Studios.

Horsewoman, dog lover, people person, educator, innovator, New Yorker, Bilingual, LatinX.

Stefan Morel

IMPRINTED Cinematographer

Stefan Morel is a Canadian director, cinematographer, editor and writer. Stefan's award-winning documentaries explore the horse-human symbiosis.  His equine stories are a powerful testament to the timeless language that unites our species.  His films include the critically acclaimed "Blind Spot; Moments Unseen" about three blind adventurers who journey by horseback into the heart of the Andes.  “Herd” documents the therapeutic connection between horses and humans. Stefan currently resides in Toronto, Canada where he pursues Dressage training with Capone, his 13yr old Westphalian horse.
